The American Radio Relay League took the FCC to court over its lax rules concerning BPL interference to HF communications. The panel of 3 judges hasn’t ruled yet, nor has it given any indication of what the ruling might be. It is important to note that Amateur Radio Operators are NOT against BPL. There ARE systems that don’t cause interference.

Yowtch! We had known before that the iPhone would have the GSM buzz – that annoying “dit-dit-dit-BZZ” effect in speakers that all GSM phones have – but we hadn’t thought it would be this bad.

Yet, for many living in the inland empire’s capital city, the free service isn’t a bonus, it’s a burden. The new network adds even more sources of interference to the already crowded wireless spectrum. (PopWireless: Wired Magazine’s article on wi-fi over crowding and interference. Amateur Radio is affected by this as well since wi-fi channels 1 through 4 are allocated to the Amateur Service a fact I think the article missed. DIGG this. It’s an important topic.)
